Belgian Beer Café Torenhof will be hosting a spectacular six-course wine-matched degustation dinner featuring the first vintage of Brent Marris’ Leefield Station and Marlborough’s finest fare in August.

One for gourmands and wine lovers alike, our exclusive pairing from, and celebration of, one of New Zealand’s favourite wine regions on Saturday 5 August offers the chance to taste the fruits of renowned winemaker Brett Marris (of Marisco Vineyard’s The Ned and The King’s Series) first release of wines under the Leefield Station label, including the multi award winning 2016 Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris from this exciting new winery and working farm nestled in Marlborough’s Waihopai Valley.

Lucky diners will be able to experience an exquisite flight of premium wines across the entire Marisco brand portfolio alongside the new additions from Leefield Station, expertly matched to a unique and sensational seasonal menu created by our legendary executive chef Friedrich Wiesehutter.

This not-to-be-missed evening of decadence, care of Marlborough’s finest drops and a six-course gastronomic odyssey, includes:

Arrival wine: The Ned Pinot Rose 2016

First course: Amchoor and fenugreek marinated lamb rump with creamed leek and pickled tomato
Wine match: The Ned Pinot Noir 2016

Second course: Ginger and garlic marinated Marlborough salmon on soba noodle salad with sesame lime dipping sauce
Wine match: Leefield Station Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Third course: Sorbet

Fourth course: Beef cheek braised in red wine with shallots and sweet roasted pumpkin puree
Wine match: King’s Wrath Pinot Noir 2016

In a coup for wine enthusiasts, we’ll also have Marisco Vineyard’s Sales Manager Tim Severne on hand to talk through each wine and masterful food match, provide tasting notes, answer any questions and share the back story of this exciting new addition to the New Zealand wine scene and other stories from the Marisco Vineyards.

With this being one of the city’s finest degustation dinners, and given this is a strictly limited capacity dinner, we urge you to book early to avoid disappointment.

The six-course degustation dinner with Marisco Vineyards and Leefield Station is on Saturday, 5 August at 7pm. Tickets are $125 per person.
